ILLUSTRATION

I LOVE making images. Although my background was originally in traditional media, I have primarily been creating illustrated images for some time in electronic media pushing pixels around. In fact, I have not only found ways to simulate my style of layered textural painting using Corel Painter and Photoshop, I have been able to push the boundaries much further than natural media would ever allow me. For drawing however, I still love sketching with a pencil or pen and you can see some of that here too.

CONCEPT DRAWINGS, COMICS AND STORYBOARDS

I CREATE ART THAT TELLS STORIES. Sometimes the images I draw or paint have very direct narrative objectives. Storyboards for example. I have done tons of storyboard drawings over the years for everything from laundry detergent, to car commercials, to online games. I even worked on contract for a while drawing storyboards and concept sketches for legendary cartoon studio Hanna Barbera. Ask me about that sometime – seriously. I have done lots of concept drawings and other art for games and TV shows. I worked on 6 published game titles for Microsoft as an example. I designed titles and openers for shows such as Entertainment Tonight and concept drawings for others including the hit TV series American Gladiators. I’ve also had long running comic series in publications such as Flex and Climbing Magazines. Fun stuff.
